The three prices
We obtained these for a Cambridge to Geneva flight in October 2026. It is a route where the price gap between the turboprop and the jets is unusually small.
| Aircraft | Seats | In the air | From, one way |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pilatus PC-12 | Up to 8 | 1 hr 55 min | £9,550 · the lowest price, up to eight seats |
| Citation M2 | Up to 5 | 1 hr 30 min | £10,650 · a small jet for up to five |
| Citation CJ2 | 6–7 | 1 hr 30 min | £11,375 · seats six or seven with the biggest hold of the three |
The price is for the whole aircraft, one way, with no UK VAT, because it leaves the country; a party of two pays what a party of six pays. Geneva in ski season, in the week of an international conference or during the watch fairs, costs more. A flight in the middle of the week in November or May is where the figures above are most likely to hold.
Why the gap is so small
The PC-12 is a turboprop and takes about 1 hr 55 min; the Citation M2 and CJ2 are jets and take about 1 hr 30 min and 1 hr 30 min. Normally that saving in time costs a good deal. Here it does not, so the question becomes party size and luggage rather than budget. The M2 seats five. The CJ2 seats six or seven and has a 65 cubic foot hold for ski bags. The PC-12 is the one for a party of eight.
The light jet page and how to choose a size give the wider picture.

Cambridge: check the hours
Cambridge City Airport has a 1,964 metre runway and a jet centre with lounges and meeting rooms, which makes it the quiet way to leave East Anglia. Two points need care. It is open Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 18:00, and weekend or out-of-hours flights have to be agreed with the jet centre. UK customs there are by arrangement, with 24 hours’ notice, which is why we ask for passenger details early. The airport’s site was sold in June 2026 with operations due to move by 2029, so we confirm its status for your date before we book. The Cambridge page has the detail.
Geneva and the Alps
Geneva has three private terminals at Terminal C3 on Chemin des Papillons, open 06:00 to 22:00 daily, with Swiss and French customs on site and a 3,900 metre runway. It is five kilometres from the city. The same runway serves the French Alps: a car to Chamonix or Megève is about an hour and a half and the Valais resorts are further, so see the ski resorts page and the Geneva page, or Charter-A.com’s Geneva guide. The transfer can be arranged at cost with our chauffeur partner, timed to your aircraft. For the Austrian Alps instead, see Manchester to Innsbruck. A short hop to the continent from another airport: Brussels to Paris.
