Geneva is where much of the Alps begins, and its airport is well equipped for people arriving by private aircraft. Private jet charter at Geneva Airport runs through three private-aviation terminals on the business aviation side, with Swiss and French customs and immigration at the private terminals.

The runway is 3,900 by 50 metres, so business jets up to large cabin can use it. Geneva is also the usual arrival point for Verbier, the Valais and the French Alps. Landing permission is required for private flights, and Charter-A arranges it through the handling agent so you do not have to.

Flying privately to Geneva

The private-jet terminals open daily 06:00–22:00 local. Earlier or later arrivals are only possible by special request and with airport permission. Private flights need prior permission, which the handling agent arranges. Four handlers operate: Jet Aviation, Signature Flight Support, Dassault Aviation Business Services (Terminals C2 and C3) and Swissport Executive Aviation. Three private terminals cluster at Terminal C3 on Chemin des Papillons, with Dassault's second terminal at Meyrin. On-site de-icing and hangarage are available, and handling extends to wide-body aircraft.

Which aircraft?

From London, Geneva is a sector of about 400 nautical miles — within non-stop reach of every aircraft class, from turboprops and very light jets upwards. The number of passengers and the luggage usually decide the aircraft: light jets for up to seven, midsize jets and super midsize jets for more space, heavy jets for larger groups. Non-stop range always depends on passengers, baggage and the winds on the day.
