The ski-season arithmetic
People ask for Innsbruck from Manchester for one reason above all: it puts a ski party on the snow without a connection in Munich or Zurich. Here is what the aircraft cost on this route in the quotes we have just obtained.
| Aircraft | Seats | In the air | From, one way |
|---|---|---|---|
| King Air 200 | Up to 8 | 2 hr 45 min | £12,500 · the lowest price of the three: a twin turboprop for up to eight |
| Pilatus PC-12 | Up to 8 | 2 hr 45 min | £13,275 · single-engine turboprop with the biggest cabin for skis and bags |
| Citation CJ2 | 6–7 | 2 hr 05 min | £14,450 · the jet, and the quickest in the air |
The price covers the whole aircraft, one way, so a party of eight divides it eight ways and a couple carries all of it. There is no UK VAT because the flight leaves the country. The quotes were for dates in the coming season, and Innsbruck is not a flat-price airport: Saturdays, Sundays and the changeover days either side of New Year pull the price up, while a mid-week flight in January can come in below these figures. Your quote is the price for your dates.
Which aircraft for skis and a mountain approach
The three aircraft behave differently here. The King Air 200 is the cheapest and a sensible choice for a family: a twin turboprop with a hold of 53 to 55 cubic feet, about 2 hr 45 min in the air. The PC-12 takes about 2 hr 45 min and has the more generous cabin door, which matters when boot bags and ski bags go on. The Citation CJ2 is the one for a small party that values time: about 2 hr 05 min against the turboprops’ longer time, and a 65 cubic foot hold.
Whichever you choose, Innsbruck is a mountain airport, so the crew must be familiar with its approach, and that is a condition we check when we assign the aircraft. How much luggage you can take explains how to count ski gear against the hold.

Innsbruck’s winter rules
The airport has a General Aviation Center at Fürstenweg 180, five kilometres west of the old town. It is open 06:30 to 20:00 local time with Austrian customs on site. The runway is 2,000 metres, which is enough for every aircraft above but short for a larger jet, and it has a displaced threshold on one end.
Two winter rules shape the day. On Saturdays and Sundays, and on 2 and 9 January, a private jet needs an airport slot, and parking is limited to 60 minutes between Thursday evening and Sunday evening. In practice a Saturday arrival is a drop-and-go: you get off, the aircraft leaves, and it comes back for you at the right time, a trade-off we price into the quote. Everything we hold is on the Innsbruck page, and the ski resorts page compares all thirteen Alpine airports. Charter-A.com adds its own Innsbruck guide.
From Manchester to the transfer
Manchester’s two private terminals, Signature at Hangar 7 and aether on Terminal One, both clear customs, so you can walk from the car to the aircraft. Austria is one hour ahead, so an early departure lands in the Tyrol before lunch. The transfer to the resort is by road; we can organise it, at cost, with our chauffeur partner Executive Global Travel, timed to the aircraft. The Manchester page has the airport facts, and helicopter hire in the Manchester area covers getting to the airport itself.
Other routes we have just priced: Cambridge to Geneva, also for the Alps, and Manchester to Málaga for the opposite season.
Manchester to Innsbruck: your questions answered
How much is a private jet from Manchester to Innsbruck?
One way, from £12,500 on a King Air 200, from £13,275 on a Pilatus PC-12 and from £14,450 on a Citation CJ2, for the whole aircraft and with no UK VAT. They are based on quotes obtained in October 2026; weekends and holiday changeovers cost more, and your quote gives the price.
How long is the flight from Manchester to Innsbruck?
About 2 hr 05 min in a light jet and about 2 hr 45 min in a turboprop, over roughly 635 nautical miles. Routing and winds change the time on the day.
Can a private jet wait at Innsbruck at the weekend?
Not for long. On Saturdays and Sundays a slot is needed and parking is limited to 60 minutes from Thursday evening to Sunday evening, so the aircraft usually drops you and returns for you. We plan and price it that way.
Can we take ski equipment?
Yes, within the hold. The King Air has a 53 to 55 cubic foot hold, the PC-12 has 40 and the CJ2 has 65. Tell us how many skis, boot bags and cases you have, and we will say which aircraft takes them.
