On this route the jet is the cheaper aircraft

On a longer flight a turboprop is usually the economy option. Manchester to Dublin turned that round in the quotes we obtained in October 2026: the light jet came in below the turboprop.

AircraftSeatsIn the airFrom, one way
Citation CJ1Up to 540 min£7,450 · the cheaper of the two aircraft in our recent quotes
Pilatus PC-12Up to 850 min£9,475 · seats more, takes longer and cost more on this sector

The price is for the whole aircraft, one way, and includes our fee; there is no UK VAT because the flight leaves the country. The figures come from our recent quotes for flights over the coming weeks, so the price for your date, which your quote confirms, can differ, and busy dates and short notice cost more. If you are one person, or two, the Citation CJ1, a twin jet for up to five, is the one to ask for. The Pilatus PC-12 seats up to eight, which is the reason to choose it, and it needs about 50 min against the CJ1’s 40 min.

Across the Irish Sea

It is about 145 nautical miles, or 270 kilometres, nearly all of it over water. In the air that is less than an hour in either aircraft, so the flight itself is the short part of your day. The time you can save is on the ground: both ends are private terminals with no check-in desks to queue at, and you arrive at the airport shortly before departure; arrival time, security and passports sets out how early.

A same-day return is realistic on this route, with a meeting or a lunch in Dublin between the flights; the aircraft either waits for you or flies home and comes back, and we price both so you can choose. Weather over the Irish Sea is part of the planning: we check it the day before and again on the morning of the flight, and tell you early if the plan needs to change.

Two private terminals at Dublin

Dublin has two business-aviation handlers, and a private passenger uses them rather than the main terminals. Signature is at T1X near Terminal 1, and Universal is at Corballis Park, about 8 kilometres from the city centre by Universal’s own figure. Irish customs and immigration are on duty 24 hours, so there is no waiting for them to open, though Signature runs from 06:00 to 22:00 local time and Universal from 07:00 to 22:00, with call-out on request outside those hours. The airport is closed on 25 December. Everything we know about the airport is on the Dublin page.

Passports are one question we always answer for you: what each passenger needs depends on nationality, and we confirm it when you book rather than leave you to guess.

Setting off from Manchester

Manchester gives you the choice of Signature’s Business Aviation Centre at Hangar 7 or aether on Level 5 of Terminal One; we will suggest the one that suits your party and arrange the slot and handler, which the airport requires. Details are on the Manchester page. If you would rather not drive to the airport, a helicopter can collect you from a field or a country house: helicopter charter from Manchester.
