Three jets for the crossing
The Canary Islands are an island chain, and the flight to the mainland is a sea crossing of more than a thousand nautical miles, which settles the choice of aircraft before price comes into it. Here is what the aircraft cost for a party of five in the quotes we obtained in October 2026.
| Aircraft | Seats | In the air | From, one way |
|---|---|---|---|
| Citation VII | Up to 8 | 3 hr 15 min | £23,275 · the lowest price: a walk-about mid-size cabin for eight |
| PC-24 | Up to 8 | 3 hr 15 min | £33,150 · six seats, a flat floor and the biggest baggage door of the three |
| Praetor 600 | Up to 9 | 3 hr 15 min | £33,900 · nine seats, the newest cabin and the largest hold |
The price is for the whole aircraft, one way, with our fee included. Whether any VAT applies on a flight between the Canary Islands and the mainland is something we confirm in your quote, so do not read these as a final figure for your date. Spring and the school holidays cost more, and a short-notice flight costs more again. The time column uses our standard estimate; the quotes themselves came in at a little under three hours.
Why not a turboprop?
On shorter island hops a turboprop is the economy choice. Here it is not: at around 255 knots the PC-12 would need more than four hours over water with no airfield to divert to for most of the way, so we price jets only on this route. The three aircraft above all cruise at 400 knots or more, and between the Citation VI’s eight seats, the PC-24’s flat floor and the Praetor 600’s nine, the choice is mostly about luggage and how many are travelling. Which size of private jet you need has more, and the midsize jets page shows the class.

Tenerife South, then Valencia
For the resorts and the southern coast the airport is Tenerife South, which is open 24 hours with customs on site and a 3,200 metre runway, and has a dedicated general aviation apron with three handlers. Tenerife North is the alternative for La Laguna and Santa Cruz, but it has restricted hours and needs prior permission, so we use it only when the party is staying that side. The Canary Islands page compares them all, and the Tenerife South page has the facts, with Charter-A.com’s Tenerife guide for the island itself.
Valencia airport is also open 24 hours with customs on site, has a 3,215 metre runway and is about eight kilometres from the city. Handling is by ExecuJet Spain, Sky Valet and others. See the Valencia page and Charter-A.com’s Valencia guide, or every Spanish airport we cover.
The day itself
Valencia is an hour ahead of the Canaries, so an afternoon departure arrives in the early evening. Arrive at Tenerife South about 30 minutes before departure: there is no check-in queue, and arrival time, security and passports sets out what to bring. A car can meet you at either end, at cost, timed to the aircraft, through our chauffeur partner. For another flight on the Spanish side, see Manchester to Málaga or Liverpool to Ibiza.
